KMS Technologies of Houston, Texas was founded in October 1999.  Since then the company has been run cash positive while developing new technologies.  In December 2007, the company was acquired by Reservoir Exploration Technology ASA and ElectroMagnetic GeoServices ASA. Both are listed on the oslo stock exchange.

The company is owned by:

 50%    rxt (Reservoir Exploration Technology ASA), an ocean bottom seismic cable company and

  50%   EMGS (ElectroMagnetic GeoServices ASA), the leading EM service company.
